Commemorating the 90th anniversary of Franklin D. Roosevelt's New Deal, Duo Extempore explore the great history that took place inside the walls of the Roosevelt House in their signature concert program Hidden Stories. Like movements in a symphony and chapters in a book, Nicole Brancato, pianist, and Evan Jagels, bassist, tell stories of the past and musically interpret them with curated improvisations, bringing those historic moments into the present-day imagination.
In addition to the concert at the Roosevelt House, Duo Extempore will be giving a workshop on improvisation and their artistic process for the students of the Music Department.
Duo Extempore interprets history, art, and space through music, exploring the very spaces in which they perform with specially curated improvisations.
