Bassist Evan Jagels and pianist Nicole Brancato join forces as Duo Extempore in unexpected ventures that interpret history, art, and space through music, exploring the very spaces in which they perform with specially curated improvisations.

Duo Extempore is set to activate their latest audio+video installation with an immersive performance during their month-long exhibition at The Smithy Pioneer Gallery in New York, opening July 15th, 2025.

The installation and performance integrate live music improvisation, electronic audio elements, and visual projections in dialogue with gallery’s surroundings in Otsego County. Visitors are invited to the performance as well as an Artist Q&A as part of the event.
